If you don’t plan on translating 16 – 22 since they are boring and uneventful let us know. I am not that great at it but I could lend a hand to make it more bearable . That said my schedule is already pretty filled with this list of rpgmaker games that I am translating . There may be less Text but I have to open the whole game up and search the database, scripts, and the map events for the text and it is very tedious since I have to open every individual message box located in random areas to translate them. I can’t use Other programs to extract and then repack the text since they are vx and vxace rpgmaker games And the program that could do it only works for xp right now so I have to manually go into the game using rpgmaker. I am debating whether I should only translate the database and the basics so that it is playable but skip the h-scenes altogether since most people skip over them.For the official projects I will complete but the other games on the queue I may only do a general systems and database translation. Knowledge of ruby programming language is a must for messing with the script file.

You’re worried about the quality of your translations?
In the past I said “Your translations are also a lot more readable than most WN translations I’ve seen around.” I know that doesn’t sound like high praise, but it actually is. There’s some baka-tsuki light novel translations that are easier to read, but relatively few, and that’s even considering that those are team efforts and not solo affairs. It’s also dependent on the quality of the source material, baka-tsuki mainly operates off LN, which should have been edited by the publishers to be more readable in the first place, WN are by their very nature, without an editors touch. Most independent amateur translators have issues with English itself. I enjoy Mushoku Tensei and Danmachi, but their translators tend to leave quite a bit to be desired. Same for Japtem, and the Tate Yuusha translators that are heavily reliant on Machine Translations.
As far as independent translators that I’ve seen that might be better than you? Untuned-Strings may work from Korean raws, but does very good work. There’s probably others out there, but I’m not quite enough of an all-consuming otaku to know them.

hm, but i’ve been compared to actual gt translations before, and have been told that my ‘translations aren’t exactly good’. since gravekeeper said it again, there must be something off about it. i’m assuming it’s about the style of writing, since the other people (not grave) compared to other shit barely-jap-speaking tl projects, but… i guess grave hasn’t seen my message.
should i go message him over at royal road? feels a little intrusive if i message him personally, but i could really do with the feedback if i’m doing something systematically wrong.

There doesnt seem to be any prob with ur translations dude from what i can see all ur doing wrong is misspelling some words or putting sentences in the wrong order/wrong wording for it to make sense but hell nobodys perfect and people who dont do muc themselves shant critize those who actually do

No! Not at all! Don’t apologise! I just needed to ask in case there was something that I happened to be doing wrong all the time. Like, it wasn’t limited to just the English either. Since I wasn’t sure if you could read Japanese or not, it could have been that I was translating too literally, or the opposite and taking too many liberties. Maybe there was some phrases that I continually misunderstood for example.

Is there someone Luru likes cause I just don’t see/want Luru to view Iris as anything other than a niece or maybe now as a sibling she just doesn’t cut it for me sorry Iris-chan~ , on the other hand Id really like it if the Hero was still alive I could see how they could easily do so as their both rather similar in their goals initially and the Hero did uphold her end of the deal and even Iris which I think was intentional perhaps as a apology for not being g able to fully uphold it as she certainly change the populcers view which ended in a civil war but still resulted I the Demons near extinction.

I think it is pretty much 100% that Iris is the main heroin. Since why then would they make they’re age difference so small. And i don’t think it is possible for hero to be alive still unless she also got into a capsule since she is human.

Have you asked any of other translators, i’m sure it maybe possible if you asked a few, maybe someone from baka-tsuki to pick it up for you since that is a grade place for editors and translators to work on projects (i think)

to be honest there aren’t many actual translators. it only seems like there’s lots because of the huge number of machine translators.
as for the actual translators, most have their hands full with their own projects. if there were translators short of work, machine translators wouldnt exist to begin with.

I see, that is understandable, but how long does it usually take to make a chapter? since i can understand the google translation of the raw a pretty decent bit, i figured it would not take long until i tried myself to make decent sentences out of the google translation which is why i was wonder how long it takes you to translate a chapter?

for someone at my level, maou is pretty easy to read provided i have a dictionary to look up less common vocab, but translating it takes a long time because i have to reword each sentence a bunch of times.

On a more serious note I hope this LN get translated. I don’t think that learning a new language is too much considering the amount of stuff japan produce but the Kanji… that shit is retardedly difficult with so many possible meanings in every character and combination of characters…

Well, first of all, japan got nuked and you can just read the Raw, it is easier then you think to understand (The Esteemed 5th Holy Sheeprabbit, Estelion Sharlulu Asheel Vinchance Celenalia di ef Falufiluu’Luufilaafee (The 35th) just makes it much more easier for you understand it) Note: Japanese is kind of difficult to learn (especially the writing part since there are thousands of kanji characters)

Yes, the hardest part is learning every kanji (well not necessarily all of them). There are kanji that rarely used and there’s also the “Old” writings of kanji too… I can read hiragana and katakana just fine but stuck all of the time due to kanji (too much similar kanji)

mn, but even if you want it, there’s nothing i can do. it’s not like i can just produce time out of thin air, and i enjoy translating otoburi probably four or five times as much as maou.
and in return, based on the pacing of the story, i get two or three times more plot back from otoburi.
the only reason i haven’t dropped it already is because it’s one of my favourite stories (to read, not translate)

Binjhamin introduced us to this nice story so if you are not gonna translate the story then its best if you drop this. Then we will at least know that the story is dropped and if our luck is good then maybe another translator will pick it up and translate it. Then we probably wouldn’t have to wait for forever like this. And if you are gonna translate it the please give us a schedule, so that we will know when the next chapter is going to come. Because if a great story like this is left abandoned it would be an insult to all of us loyal readers who are begging to read it, the translators and most importantly the author. So please make a quick decision, as a loyal reader of this great story I’m begging you.

Just saw the LN illustrations and…was quite disappointed.
Some were “tolerable” to an extent, like Lulu, his parents & Yuumis, though Iris looked better in that preview artwork of her sleeping in the pod than her short haired short-shorts wearing look in the cover (pretty much how she was described, what happened to her love for all things frilly & black after?)…
The real unforgivable sin is how Gran turned out. What in the name of Thor’s oily nipples happened to him? Why did he end up looking like some sort of Spike Spiegel-Wolverine hybrid that got an anvil dropped on his head leaving hair like that? Our bro didn’t deserved that…why artist person, why? Why Okano Yuu? How could you approve that monstrosity?

Ah ,I’ve seen it as well. True, we each have our own mental image of the characters (heck, even Emperor Lulu at least looked like a Maou), but that was just tragically bad for our buddy there.
LightNovel Gran doesn’t have that whimsical or rough yet good natured impression from the story at all. He looked like some random NPC Merc#12 that gets killed in this kind of stories.
And I agree with that nice artwork. That’s close to my own mental image as well.

Have to agree on Gran, though I feel if they changed his head, he wouldn’t be to bad. I can’t see Luru as anything other than some buff dwarf though. His clothes look ridiculous, and that sword looks WAYYY to big for him, how can he even pull it out? But seriously, buff 12 year old looks pretty damn creepy, he has more muscle than his father!

I usually don’t feel the need to comment on those series because I don’t really want to point out who is the greatest “waifu” is. Why talk about something that has no right answer or cool philosophy/story point that is fun to discuss. We all know that the obviously OP main characters will be OP. No need to go “oh man OP MC #67 was badass this chapter.”
I enjoy stuff more along the lines of “What makes the religious denomination of yomigiri so Anti-demon at the time of the hero and the demon king? Is it similar to the Roman Catholic crusades? Or was it similar to Kuro No Maou’s religious beliefs that anything not human is inferior. (By the way our religions today kind of have similar sayings. For instance “humans were created in the image of God.” Only humans?) Either way that was what I was interested in in that particular series. If I have opinions on MC OP-ness or the harem I keep it to myself .
Keep up the good work on your unique attitude towards translating. It introduces remarkably interesting series to me. Like sorry onee-sama. A person reincarnated into a story who does not reject her horrible outcome. Awesome. Now all we need is someone reincarnated as the heroine of the story who totally screws up on following the story and ends up in a bad situation.

Hm, nothing really. Basically instead of the original four members of the hero party, in that church’s particular religion, the holy woman is gone, and they have Bacchus instead.
Later on that priest woman is communicating with a burly man’s voice through some unspecified means of long distance communication, and nothing substantial can be understood from their chat.
