It was finally here. The day of Tomoe-senpai’s graduation.
As the Student Council President, naturally Tomoe-senpai was the one giving the address. Aahh. This would be the last time seeing Tomoe-senpai in his uniform. Goodbye, first love of mine. …Just kidding. I just felt like being a little extravagant.
First I congratulated the graduating Pivoine members as a fellow member. After that I made my way towards Tomoe-senpai. Around him was a huge crowd of other graduates. It was a little nerve-wracking.
“Congratulations on graduating, Tomoe-senpai!”
“Thanks, Kisshouin-san.”
Uu, being so close was making me teary… It’s going to be so lonelyy.
“Thanks for the chocolate the other day. Kasumi was overjoyed too.”
“Yes!”
Ah, he just said Kasumi. Was that okay now?
I looked at him questioningly, and he smiled and nodded.
“Kasumi!”
Kasumi looked up with a start amidst her group of friends a distance away.
Seeing us, she walked over and then wrapped her arms around his shoulders and dropped her bombshell announcement.
“Everybody, we’re dating!”
As the former Student Council President and a member of the Pivoine, the news caused quite a stir.
Both the Student Council and the Pivoine had taken quite a shock.
I was moved though, and began clapping passionately. Uwaah, uwahh, this was the world of shoujo romance that I admiredd!
After graduating they didn’t really have much to do with the Pivoine or StuCo, right! Now they could walk happily through university with their hands held, right!
Influenced by my own clapping, other people began to follow. The applause grew louder and louder.
Tomoe-senpai smiled and waved, but Kasumi-sama had turned beet red. She seemed happy though. Aaahh! Kasumi-sama was crying! Oh no, now I was crying! I’m so happy for you, Kasumi-sama! You’ve had to hide it for so long. It must have hurt not being able to tell anyone.
The two of them slipped out of the crowd of shocked onlookers and came to where I was.
I gave them another clap of the hands.
“Thank you, Kisshouin-san.”
“Thank you, Reika-sama.”
“Cob-, cobgrajul-, leshonss!!”
Oh no, my nose was all stuffy from the crying.
I pulled out a handkerchief and stealthily wiped away the mucus along with my tears. …Phew, I could finally breathe again.
“I am so glad for you, Kasumi-sama. You can finally love each other in public.”
“Thank you for everything, Reika-sama. I was really happy to have somebody like you to talk to.”
“Kasumi-samaaa~!”
And now I was crying again. And she was too, as we held hands. Oh, no, Kasumi-sama, this handkerchief has my snot on it…
“Kisshouin-san, I’ve always thought of you as a cute little sister as well. Thanks for everything. I hope you and Kasumi will stay close even after we’re gone.”
“Yes. I will always wish you two well.”
Tomoe-senpai rubbed me on the head. Uwaaan! Are you really okay with this good-for-nothing as a sisterrr!?

After seeing them off, I realised that my tears had finally stopped.
It was a little embarrassing to have bawled like that, so I found an abandoned corner of the school building. I was finally alone. Pulling out some tissues, I blew my nose hard. Aahh, finally clear!
Hahhh. It was amazing how much better I felt now.
But Tomoe-senpai really was amazing. Even once would do, I wanted to experience having somebody profess their love to me at graduation like that!
While bells were ringing in my head, somebody tapped me on the shoulder. Mn?
I turned around to find Kaburagi, standing there looking sorrowful.
What on earth was he doing here?
“Umm… is something the matter?”
It was a completely reasonable question.
Hand still on my shoulder, the sorrow on Kaburagi’s face deepened before he spoke.
“You’re amazing…”
“Eh?”
Amazing? At what?
“You’ve liked him all this time, right? The Student Council President.”
“Eh?”
“It must have been tough being told that you were like a little sister to him…”
“Eh? Ah, well…”
Kaburagi had a knowing look on his face as he slapped my shoulder a few times. That hurts, damnit. And stop misunderstanding things on your own. Seriously, what the heck was this guy saying.
“I’m in the same position as you, so I know. Being told that you’re a sister by the person you love…!”
Kaburagi gripped my shoulder as he was overcome with emotion. Oww oww owwww!
“But you were amazing. You even smiled as you congratulated them. You did great.”
This time it was my back that he was smacking. That hurts, goddamnit!! I’m not a sumo wrestler so stop hitting me already!
“Kaburagi-sama, might you be misunderstanding something?”
I casually put some distance between us and escaped the reach of his hand. But this time he grabbed me by both shoulders.
“Don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone. Seeing you really encouraged me. The way you watched those two…! You’re so amazing, Kisshouin! After watching you, I realised that I wanted to follow your lead and start facing forwards as well… So don’t let yourself lose to a broken heart either!”
Grind, grind, grind. Oww, oww, owwww! He was pushing me into the ground!
My shoulders and my back hurt so much that I was starting to tear up, but then Kaburagi saw and started tearing up as well.
“If it gets to be too much, come talk to me. We both have to try our best… We can both get over this, I know it…”
Kaburagi turned away from me to hide his tears as he wiped his face.
“Don’t do anything rash,” he said, before leaving.

And what do you mean rash? Did you think I was going to go on a journey as well? Um, I’m really not, okay? Toujinbou is freaking cold.
But wow, did Kaburagi have some strong ideas about things. Arbitrarily getting the wrong idea about Tomoe-senpai and I, too. That was ages ago. And it was a bit troublesome how because of the little sister comment he started thinking of us as comrades or something.
Sometimes I called people idiots in my head, but just now was the real deal.

The next day I went to school with some analgesic strips on my shoulders. When I got to school, Kaburagi silently handed me a poem anthology.
‘Eh-, I don’t want this,’ I thought and tried to hand it back, but he slapped me on the shoulder again so I nodded.
“Our feelings are in this book…”
What do you mean ‘our’… I told you to stop lumping us together.

Since people were watching I couldn’t exactly throw it away, and so I was left bringing it back with me.
“Kaburagi-sama gave Reika-sama a love poem anthologyy!” they squealed as I entered the classroom. God, could this get any worse…!?
“Giving a girl a poem anthology!? He’s so sensitive and dreamy!” some other girl pitched in. You think so? I’m not happy at all.
The thing was an anthology of poems read over two months by some sobbing reject. Just having it in my bag felt like it was harming my love fortunes. It was like a mass of bad luck!

which my German friends verify is indeed a quote from Heinrich Hein, specifically his essay on Shakespeare, and translates to,
“Love is always a kind of madness, more or less beautiful.”
for any of you Huns out there. I don’t read German unfortunately, so I can’t verify that it actually was Heinrich Heine who said that. I’d like to learn German one day, but the genders just make it soooo haaaard…

Though actually, it doesn’t seem that bad.
It seems like Kabugari views Reika as a “broken-hearted friend” so he probably doesn’t consider her to be a possible romantic interest, paving the way for Wakaba.
Basically, it got resolved in a way that raised a friend flag and not a lover flag so it’s not bad.

1. since reika-sama choosed not to become the antagonist of the story…. what happens to wakaba-san?
2.will there be an impending turning point/flag where they are pitted in an inescapable scenario?
3.will reika sama make handicrafts club great again? and eventually build that wall?

That scene where everyone was clapping Tomoe and Kasumi reminds me of a pixiv work I saw ages ago and it was amazingly cute with a boy confessing to a girl and their classmates cheering them on. If there’s going to be a love end for Reika getting confessed by one of the potential love interests, I hope that a similar scene happens for her. Like Reika I also live for these type of shoujo stuff.

This chapter starts out so FLUFFY…and then quickly turned ridiculous. The Bakaburagi Effect, I guess.
Another thing I didn’t notice in the raws – “Enjou, looking extremely pleased with himself”?
Why do I get the sinking feeling that he’s the REAL culprit of Bakaburagi’s misunderstanding?? Did he go “look, Masaya – Kisshouin-san is bravely congratulating her first love dating someone else”??? THIS HARAGUROOOO!!! He owes Reika a lot more than heat strips if that’s really the case.

I also tried 3 email addresses from gmail, which didn’t work either.
So it’s not my domain, and it’s definitely not gmail. I literally can’t access the registration for wordpress.com! Every time I click on ‘register’, it just leads me back to the ‘log in’ page. Sooooo frustrating!

If you truly mean *dabbled* then Italian, French, German, Korean, Irish, Latin and the ancient writing script of Vietnamese. I gave most of those up in the first few weeks and kept going through languages until I stuck with Japanese lol.

I learn German as a third language, and it should be correct more or less :D And if you get confused about the gender articles, just use ‘der’ because there’s a higher chance of it being correct, lol. But my trick is to use the plural form so I can just use ‘die’ :p

Well i’m german (swiss other dialect) so i think its the easiest language…. But without regatd aboit the diffrent opinions of my motherlanguage i can verify the quote but the part written beneath is longer and fully translated it means (don’t mention my grammar, please. It’s just one sentence but i’m unsure how to structure it in English… Because of that i just wrote the remainder beneath the already existing part )

You can learn the genders in the german language by simply listen to it. Preferably german dubbed anime, and then you will get the feel for the genders the more you watch those german dubs (anime because it is easy to understand what the characters’ intentions).
Or else trying to learn the genders will be a pain in the ass, the genders are too random sometimes.
My advice comes from that learned understanding german from watching german dubbed cartoon/anime with satellite TV. (I did this as a child, and I didn’t need to take german classes serious in high school to get the highest grade in it.)
Also, watching japanese anime (subbed) as a teenager make it somehow possible to understand the raws (And I sometimes see people commenting about that in comment section of an anime site).

Lol this is HILARIOUS. A fave chapter! The first half was of Reika SPARKLING with Kasumi in happiness for them and it was so nice of her to start clapping; basically peer pressuring the crowd to cheer for the unlokely couple haha.

Love is more than just matching personalities. It’s about the moments in which people share their synonomous true emotions and thoughts. More than the masks we wear it’s important that we find people who understand the stimuli which shapes the mask we shield ourselves with.
Kaburagi does not understand Reika’s stimuli nor does he make an attempt to understand. He merely projects his own mask onto her and this is why they will never even consider each other.

I don’t feel it’s useful to qualify love because it’s just a way of shifting goalposts. Yes, some forms of emotional expression are healthier than others. But that’s universally true of every emotion. But we only give love a special pass exception by saying that one thing is True Love, but this other love is not.
Nobody ever picks some ennobling and exalting example of anger and then calls it True Anger and then dismisses the rest as invalid expressions of feeling.
Ah but as to whether Kaburagi feels carnal love for Reika? Nah, probably not.

I’m paraphrasing Nietzsche, but part of why people remain devoted to a thing is often sometimes simply because they DON’T understand it. He cynically stated that once you do, then love for the thing often falls away.
Because there’s a mystery. Like the mariner gazing out into the ocean. Or because man goes on seeking a woman’s “true” and secret depths. It’s why “tall, dark and handsome” is a thing.

Love comes in many forms, as well.
Love for your parents is different from love for your craft, and different again from love for your friends, and different once more from love for a romantic partner.
Which of them is true love?
I don’t think it really matters. It isn’t as if a particular kind of love is intrinsically of lower quality or reduced value because of its form.
Nonetheless, it’s important to make a distinction between ‘fascination’, ‘lust’, ‘devotion’, ‘reliance’, ‘comfort’, and all of the other sorts of forms romantic love can take, if only so that you don’t hold unrealistic expectations and unhealthily glorify/condemn your relationship.
Love also comes in varying degrees of intimacy, but I don’t think that a particular level of intimacy is the only healthy or ‘correct’ one.

I take to existentialism like a baby to candy.
So no, I didn’t watch that video specifically until you mentioned it, but I did get most of the subtext of R&M on some level.
Monster and Parasyte (either the mangas or their adaptations) are all about that for weebs who might want a taste of something along those lines. Sadly there is not enough of such things.
(And I detest Darker Than Black, Tokyo Ghoul and Ergo Proxy, so not every anime that tries its hand at that sort of thing gets it right. I find them annoyingly pretentious in a way that somehow hurts my brain.)

That’s the reason I loved Rick & Morty so much, but I love the video simply because of the way Don Harmon says it. Even though I’ve heard it before and it’s a philosophy I generally live by, he’s well-spoken.
I’ve actually watched all of those anime, and I’m a fan of them all (except Tokyo Ghoul). Monster’s a bit of a slog in the midsection, but it’s more interesting and creative than most other shows I’ve seen, so I’ve seen it twice. Parasyte’s a bit shallower, as you say, but it has some pretty good suspense.
I’m a fan of Darker than Black because of the awesome action, the comedy and Hei himself, really. Something to be desired in terms of plotlines, though. I have to admit that most of Ergo Proxy went way over my head, but I love it for the sheer brilliance of presentation anyway! Tokyo Ghoul is pretty mediocre throughout, though.
I’m not sure how you’d get on with Revolutionary Girl Utena, but it is one of my absolute favourites just in terms of sheer variety and creativity. Nanami is easily my favourite character in anime, too. Harmony was my second-favourite film of 2015, though I think I’m a bit controversial in that opinion.
Casshern Sins and Kino’s Journey are some of my lesser favourites. I have yet to see Ghost in The Shell, but I think I’ll watch it this weekend.
There’s also Kaiba, though I don’t recall whether it deals with existentialism per se; it’s some interesting shit though. UN-GO is interesting, too.
…I think I may need to read some actual philosophy material when I get the chance.

I dont know hes kinda got tunnel vision when it comes to certain things and can really focus on some of the stupidest stuff, for example how fucking tactless that shit is or that animal nose shit he commented about, he really wanted Reika to go whole hog with the cosplay not be half assed since hes not lukewarm, he gives it everything hes got, hes very upfront about it, thats probably some of the few of the things I like about that jerkass, hes got no layers of deception about him, its all glaringly in your face obvious, what this baldy is about.
So if he notices something he will focus on it and be aware of it enough to give it consideration and comment about it, in his own way he may even think hes being helpful. His current situation probably made him more aware of others that might be dealing with the same thing. Fucking tactless shithead! even snot smeared Reika sama is a seal pup Goddess!

I just love how reika tearing up from the pain just goes to give kaburagi some “evidence” that she liked tomoe… like seriously by hurting her, he has effectively made her out to be someone like him, and therefore create a sense of comraderie… and it doesn’t help that reika went to a place with no people to clean herself up as it just seems like she’s trying to get away from something…
