Guys, the truth is that I’m actually an Japanese person living in Indonesia (lol).

Which is why recently, with the eruption of the volcano in Chile, I’ve really begun to think deeply about what it is that I actually want in life.

And the conclusion that I’ve come to is that I want money. Money motivates me.

Which is why from now on I will no longer be offering my professional native-level Japanese skills for free.

From today onwards, each week I will be offering half a chapter of Otoburi, Other World, Jashin and Tilea each. In total, that’s two free chapters per week. Beyond that, each additional half-chapter will require a 200USD donation. Please mention in the donation the series that your donation is going towards.

Maou quarter-chapters will be charged at 200 Euros each, and I will not be providing any freebies for this series.

Amir, my mathematically challenged friend, the reason I’m charging 2-3 times translators like Ren is because I translate 2-3 times faster than translators (lol) like Ren.

    2. If you were translating as fast as monster class like yoraikun and gravity or even xcrossj I would totally pay 200 dollars (once per couple months) for donation. You can get a new book for less than 60 dollars. Thank God this is making fun of translators like elysion. Hilarious how they think that now that they have translated some if they stop or are super slow some other translator won’t become interested enough to translate faster for less.

  11. i see you pointing out my mistake and yes i think i write it wrong as well. so basicly you willn’t release a chpt and only release half chpt so people will whine where is the other half and you will demand 200 dollar/euro to get another half. i will expect this site going down more faster then what i predict.

  13. I guess we just have to wait 2 week for 1 chapter then. Only rich guys would be willing to donate 200$ per chapter. Us poor guys and leechers only option is to wait for the chapter to come or for someone rich to donate.

    IT’s not that I againts this direction, because Translating is hard work and TL must find amusement where she can. But this course of action will lead to much mud and madness.

      1. Actually, only about half. If yamete really want to take money, I wont object to that.
        What I am talking about is that she just use that as a baited hooks to mess with readers. problem of trolling readers is they are not that sensitive to the nuances of humour~ Especially net humour.

    2. Sometimes Reality can be so absurd, and Satire can be so subtle, that it’s hard to tell which is which. Sometimes wee need that extra push, like the actual Resource that URL links to (hint: it’s a google owned website with a red and white colour scheme).

    1. For mobile, the donation button’s at the bottom. Don’t bother, because the donation button hasn’t linked to a money transmission platform for some time.

      1. XD I’d also drop a few bucks because Estelion is awesome like no other translators. But if he seriously charged 200 per half chapter and only released half a chapter for free each week…. I’d make a :( sad face and lament in despair orz. Estelion translates some really amazing series that have unique premises, and it would be such a shame that greatness would never be experienced by people who can’t read Japanese.

        So that’s why I’m glad this is just satire. Although I have to admit I really liked that comparison picture with the red Zaku hahaha.

  25. Ouch I can’t believe this Elysion. I had a feeling he’d make waves with his active pursuit of money as soon as I found out he was charging 200 dollars per chapter lol. Basically he doesn’t like translating and will only release if he’s paid extra x.x I can feel the lack of love! Eh I don’t care about asking for donations, but outright charging for translating puts him in a grey zone. Hmm

  28. I appreciate all the work you have put in to translations, but your business view of things is seriously messed up.

    If you can do a chapter 2-3 times faster then Ren, wouldn’t it make more sense for it to be roughly ½ the price compared to his works.

    In the timeframe it takes for Ren to translate one chapter, in that time you would have translated 2-3 chapters, right? And you would charge 800-1200$ for that work while Ren would charge 80$ for the same amount of time spend on translating…So basically you are saying that your time is 10-15 times more expensive the his.

    1. Speaking seriously, freelances don’t tend to be paid by the hour or by a salary. They’re paid a number of cents per character.

      Additionally, since translating a web novel would be preferably fast, the premium would be on faster releases, not slower releases.

      But all this is just a jab at a certain someone. If you’d click my donation link, you’ll realise that quite acutely, I think.

    2. Elysion is constantly changing his schedule and complaining and has a donation button for putting out chapter’s faster. The donations are rediculously expensive for just the price of one chapter though. So lots of people (including me) think that this is making fun of those types of posts/costs.

    Tbh, I’m an indonesian, so i am surprised when he ask for 200 per bonus chapter, that’s quite a lot. Yes it’s not that much if you compare it with rwx, probably less than rwx. But for a solo fighter in Indonesia, if you can get 200 per week, that’s a lot.
